Dr. Vinod Sharma is a distinguished Interventional Cardiologist with over 35 years of experience in advanced cardiovascular care. He serves as the Vice Chief Executive Officer & Head of Cardiology Services at National Heart Institute, New Delhi, where he has been leading the department since 2004.

He completed his MBBS, MD (Medicine), and DM (Cardiology), and further strengthened his expertise through international training in Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology. He also holds an MBA in Healthcare Administration from the University of Delhi and is a Fellow of several prestigious international cardiology societies.

Dr. Sharma's expertise includes coronary angiography and angioplasty, complex coronary interventions, paediatric cardiac catheterisation, peripheral and carotid interventions, electrophysiological studies, radiofrequency ablation, pacemaker, ICD and CRT implantation, and structural heart interventions. He has performed over 33,000 coronary angiographies, 6,500 angioplasties, and more than 1,800 pacemaker and device implantations.

An accomplished clinician, researcher, and academician, Dr. Sharma has served as Principal Investigator for numerous national and international clinical trials, authored several books and book chapters, and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. With over two decades of teaching experience, he continues to mentor DNB students and serves as visiting faculty at leading medical institutions across India.
